What is the difference between NTSC and PAL Video Formats?
Q. What is the difference between NTSC and PAL Video Formats?
A. For video cameras, there are different recording formats depending which region its being shown in.
PAL is most common in Europe, some parts of Asia and Australia, which delivers a standard frame rate of 25 fps (Frames per second).
NTSC is most common in America, South America and Canada, which delivers a standard frame rare of 30 fps.
There are a few cameras out there which can switch between PAl and NTSC, but most will be locked to the region is was purchased from, for example, if purchased in the UK it will be set to PAL format.
